Trafford North End

Life, the universe and all things Trafford (especially North End)

Thoughts, praise, grumbles, discussion

Politics

Whatever your political persuasion, it’s important to keep up with what your councillors are doing, try to influence their choices – and hold them to account for their decisions.

Planning

Decisions on planning applications, and proposals in development plans affect us all to some degree or other. I hope to pinpoint some issues that may be of interest as they arise – but welcome suggestions as well (because I may well miss some – there’s a lot going on!)

Environment

The pandemic has shown us that there are alternative ways of working and living. Some may not survive the quest to get back to “normal”, but others may point a way forward for a better, cleaner environment to the benefit of our children/grandchildren. We need to decide what “new normal” we want.

Not all those who wander are lost.

J. R. R. TOLKIEN

This quote came with the blog site and I can’t get rid of it. But it’s quite good. I would just add that, by inference, some of those who wander are, in fact, lost. Maybe this blog can help some wanderers – lost or not!

About Me

I am John Westbrook and I have lived in Trafford (North End) for over 40 years. I have been a Town Planner for all this time – though not working for Trafford Council – and I take a particular interest in things, planning and political, that are of special relevance to the Borough

PS. (caution – advertisement) I also write novels – more information available if you email me.

Apology

For all those who just love Tik Tok, Instagram, or any other similar fiendish systems, I don’t yet (and maybe will never?) have a handle on such things. So it will be mainly writing with the odd illustration if I can manage it, until such time as my techno skills catch up.

But I will try, honest.
